His parents were very young when he was born. but that doesn't mean that his parents loved and cared for him throughout his childhood. Christian was known to throw a punch or two, as he was bullied for his heritage. He also met his now girlfriend during this time - before he enrolled in the Navy. When he was old enough, his parents enlisted him in the Navy. The experiences he had changed his tough guy attitude after what he saw and had to deal with. During this time, he learned he was quite handy as a mechanic and learned how to fix the boats and other aquatic machinery his Unit needed to be fixed. He became close friends with Gregory Woodcross during his time in the Navy; so much so that he verbally said that if something happened to him Greg would want Christian to look after his children and he agreed; thinking nothing of it. One day however, Christian and Greg were fixing one of the submarines underwater. The two men got into their scuba gear and swam to fix the problem; taking their welding equipment down with them. They had finished the submarine and swam to the surface but Greg swam too quickly to the surface and ended up dying as a result. Christian felt horrible and blames himself - and still does. He enjoyed his time in the Navy, but it was time for him to retire due to loosing his friend and now having to be a father. He didn't know where to go - until his best friend at the time had moved to Hickstead, so he followed her. The burly man quickly got a job at the marina as a mechanic. Ama and Christian had a long distance friendship during his time in the Navy; which actually brought them closer together. About two years into their friendship, he decided to man up and ask Ama to be his girlfriend.
