A chuckle escaped Teddy when the young woman seemed to light up at the idea of a professor having a dog attend class, "Yeah, seriously. My friend says the professor's a hard ass, so he probably needs the dog to balance out his personality." Teddy joked now, at least, that's how Aria Martin had described the situation to him. But given how prickly and OCD she could be, perhaps this was a rather biased opinion, "I think the guy teaches criminal justice or criminology, but I would think seeing a dog is worth sacrificing an elective to social sciences." Especially if it was merely an intro class, maybe it would end up being something the young man would do as well.
Chocolate brown eyes watched as a warm smile lighted up Danielle's face at the praise. Dang, she was actually kinda cute. If it weren't for Cressida 'Ida' Everdeen, Teddy was certain that he probably would have been rolling on smitten feelings now - and that was only after five minutes. He had to stop being such a sucker, it was ultimately his downfall, "Well, if it doesn't, you can blame me for jinxing you." He replied now, his lips pulling into an easy grin.
His next question seemed to prompt some thought, as he watched Danielle think over her life choices on a business major before she voiced her opinion: "It’s one of the majors I need to apply for the marketing course. . and I figured a career in the business department would make the most money.” Ah money. Teddy wasn't surprise, and he knew better than to judge on people's desires to want to earn cold hard cash upon graduating University. It was stupidly expensive, and he was lucky enough to have wealthy parents to foot the bill, especially since it took a while to find himself, "Ah. You at least have a passion for it though, yeah? My dad likes it cause he likes to socialize and win people over. Or at least, I'm pretty certain that's the case."

Leave it to a stranger to read in-between the lines of his statement. Teddy could not help but to inwardly cringe a little bit, hoping that he hadn't exactly come off as a horn dog to her just then. Granted, they were all human, and they were all guilty of doing things out of their comfort zones to try and get to know a girl, or a guy for that matter, just a little bit better, "If I'm lucky, maybe it will be a bit of both." He replied with a grin now, figuring it best to just own on the woman's minor call out than to be bashful and shy away from it.
Chocolate brown eyes watched her now as she studied a ceramic blue plate. She actually picked it up to handle, and even Teddy could tell it was a decent piece of art as it reflected in the light with added movement. But that was his only take away from it - he didn't comprehend what made the glaze so nice or the techinque that went into crafting said plate. To Teddy, well, it was just a plate, but even he knew better than to write something off in the artworld, "Jack of all Trades? I like it," he replied with a grin now, "Hopefully one day the world will see it as that as well. I have to say, you sound like a wise old sage for someone who looks so young."
But as the name to the face clicked - it would make sense that one Penelope Rose Shepherd would indeed be a wise old sage. As he made the connection, chocolate brown eyes watched as a small smirk took over her face - like this was a game she knew all too well, "Ah sorry," Teddy said with a laugh now, running a hand through his hair in nervous habit, "I suppose you get that all the time. And you're probably here to enjoy yourself, not be a celebrity." Shrugging off his embarrassment now, he held out his hand for a shake, "We'll try that again. It's a pleasure to meet you, Penny. I'm Teddy. What brings you to these parts?"

At least she was still smiling at him and he hadn't quite warn out his welcome quite yet for crashing her studying session, "Business? Well then, guess I'm safe then. I'll still try and give the guy a wide berth though when I work on scheduling for the next semester." Teddy generally had been lucky about getting into the classes he wanted, but every once in a while, he had been slow and stuff filled up fast. It also wouldn't surprise him that his advisor would try and stick him in a business class just to get that 'liberal arts' exposure. The young man couldn't help but to like the way that his name sounded on Dani's lips, but Teddy wouldn't lie - he tended to be a sucker for mysterious girls saying his name. But his heart was otherwise preoccupied.
Chocolate eyes watched as a smirk danced across the young woman's face, and Teddy knew this conversation could go either way. It would seem though that she agreed with his thoughts on the teachers, "They defilingly are. Probably should have retired by now," he joked, "Although I do hear that there's a criminology professor that brings his dog to class." And apparently should not be trifled with, according to Aria Beck, and given her typical sour mood - that was saying something. He listened to Dani and nodded, "Ah well, considering your devoting your weekend morning to writing over here in the on the second wing, I think you're safe at passing." He assured her, "What made you pick business though?" She looked a few years younger than him, granted, most students were given Teddy's failure at college the first time around, but if she was eighteen, that would be impressive she already knew what she wanted to do with her life.

Teddy was still finding himself bothered by this young woman's face. It was driving him absolutely nuts on where he could possibly know her from. Hopefully it would hit him soon and not in the middle of the night when he was dead asleep. The young man hated it when that happened, "I hear they do. I haven't done it myself, but a few friends have had fun. They get guest teachers every once in a while." In fact, he was pretty positive that Marina or Tegan had stopped by here before. But he was pretty certain this woman didn't care about that. Her prompt about his class startled him, feeling a little sheepishly, "Uh...no. I enjoy it for a classmate. Ceramics are not my forte at all."
He felt a little dumb admitting that to a stranger, but if there was one thing that Teddy prided himself on was being as honest and open as possible, even if it was to a mildly older stranger. And thankfully, he didn't have to classify her a stranger anymore cause she introduced herself as Penny, "Nice to meet you Penny. I deal in mixed media - acrylic paint, inks, markers, sharpies, you name it. But since I'm heavily interested in comics and design, I'm trying to move over into photoshop now. Hasn't been easy but it's all starting to click now." And speaking of clicking, her name and face was clicking together in his brain, and Teddy couldn't believe he hadn't seen it sooner.
"Wait. Penny as in Penelope Shepherd? Illustrator for 'Blue Ravenscroft and the Chalice of Destiny?'" Holy fuck, he had to make sure to not loose his cool just then. Nevermind that he was talking to one of his illustration celebrity crushes, let alone idols.

Beyond cute. She's beautiful. If you're ever in the art building and see a redhead, that's her. I think she works at the gym also.
She's friends with my roommate. I finally got the nerve to talk to her. Well, beyond the 'hey' when she stops by to see Amias. And she didn't runaway. So we'll see what happens.
I don't want to bore you with my girl escapades though. What's shakin' bacon?

It looked as if he had caught the girl off guard. Guess that's what he had gotten for being too stealthy when he sat down in this common area. Thankfully, she hardly looked perturbed by his question. If anything, dare he say that she might have welcomed it as a cute smirk danced across her lips and she rolled her eyes. Guess she was playing it cool and simply humoring him. That was no matter to Teddy though, talking to girls was his favorite pass time if they were willing to do so. The young man made a mental note to check himself though if she started to get bored with him, better to just peter off and leave her alone then force any more chatter.
"Yeah, Mr Nelson thinks our brains need exercising after half term. The 2 assignments he’d dished out before we finished for Easter clearly slipped his mind,” mystery girl commented now. Teddy himself couldn't help but to cringe, "A third assignment? That sounds like overkill to me." He was also certain that most of the student population would agree, "I don't think I've had the luxury to take a class with him though. I take it he's a professor to avoid then?" The name certainly wasn't part of the art department, the young man knew that for certain, so it wasn't too hard to avoid unless he was one of those dreaded required liberal arts classes that he had to take to be 'well rounded'.
And then he got a name to the face: Dani. Sweet, simple, and straight forward. A playful grin drew at his lips, the kinda of smile that often got him referred to as a human golden retriever, whatever that meant, "Teddy, pleasure to meet you, Dani." He replied, getting used to her name so he could commit it, "Art Student, with an independent study in comic design. Although I'm stuck taking an English class. So I've made it my mission to try and teach the old bat that graphic novels are indeed an English art form. It's been an uphill battle thus far when all what he wants to talk about is the Jane Austen and the like." Man, he was hogging up the conversation, "What do you major in? I can't say I've seen you before."

Guess I should toss out any John Hughes like gestures
Gift card doesn't sound romantic. She likes clay and sculpture...okay. Maybe scratch valentine's day, and I just ask her out for a walk around Avalon during their next big gallery show?

....okay. Touché, you have a point there, oh wise one.
And no, I am not stalking her! She knows I exist. Come on, I have better moves than stalking to pick up a girl.
I guess I wasn't sure if the whole Valetine's Day thing is over the top? If I should wait after it. I don't know. Don't want to scare her off and then have to sit next to her for the whole semester in class.

I'll be needing those cheers given that its Ipswitch College. The fucking enemy.
Fuck yes I am on for a movie night! Blue aliens it is. I've been drooling over the visual affects and animation. And possibly being a dork and listening to the soundtrack on repeat when I've been working on my art. I swear, your mind is going to be blown!
