For the briefest of moments, the young woman looked like a rabbit caught in a snare. A fleeting look of panic appeared to have crossed her features, and it occurred to Teddy now that when his chocolate brown eyes had locked with hers, one Tally Caufield had already been looking at him. Like any good natured guy though, he wasn't about to be a dick and point it out, nor puff out his chest to try and pull her in more. Truth be told, Teddy knew he wasn't ready to date yet, let alone flirt. But he knew ever since Natalie, there was a fine that he seemed to straddle between being friendly and being flirty, which meant he had to be careful to not become another heartbreaker.
She was smiling at him now, a little pink flushing at her cheeks. Poor girl. Although maybe it wasn't his dashing good looks that had gotten her, or his smile, but it was the fact that she couldn't quite remember his name. That was a first. Teddy actually laughed, all good natured though at her admission, "It's fine. I don't expect you to remember it if we don't chat during class." Besides, she was a freshman, or first year if thats what he remembered the English possibly calling it, "My name's Teddy. Teddy Beauchamp." His gaze left hers now, casting a curious look at his own glob of clay.
After a moment, he finally glanced back at her with a grin, "I guess we both are having artist blocks then. Truth be told, I was trying to cheat and see what you were going to make before I realized I knew you and it wouldn't be right to cheat off you." He gave though as she mentioned a ugly mug, which seemed up his track record. It gave him flashes to a time with Ida, as her hands had encased his to help him with the wheel. But he shoved it aside, the wallow, Teddy wasn't about to be one of those guys in front of this girl who barely knew him, "I'm thinking about making a tiny horse to give to my friend since she has one. I suck at the wheel personally." He gave pause, before adding on, "I take it you and I share that commonality?"

Teddy's brow furrowed a little bit, "A big event?" He did not get that memo, unless, Perry said something and Teddy had not been paying attention. Truth be told, the young man was often guilty of that, "Here? Or are you talking about the upcoming Summer Faire?" Now that, he was pretty certain he had heard Perry talking about, wanting to enter a quilt or something along the lines of that. Still, he didn't have the faintest idea.
Still, the call of coffee was the siren's song to him, especially this early in the morning. While Teddy clearly still looked like he needed help getting up, Elodie Whitlock looked like she had walked right out of magazine - all prim and proper in her own magical way, "It's a deal. Then you can regal me with what you need help setting up. I assume there's some lifting involved." And if that was the case, then this early morning shift that Marina had given him suddenly made a lot of sense.
He hurried off to the break room, measuring out the coffee into the filter, and pressed start. Brown eyes watched as the machine came to life, the boiling of water filling the air before the scream of coffee being made. It wasn't long before Elodie waltzed in to join him, and Teddy couldn't help but to say, "You know, sometimes I forget you and Perry are siblings. You two are so...different sometimes."

She laughed at him, it was rather big and boisterous for her lithe frame, before reminding him about the hospital. Teddy lightly smacked the side of his head, as if reminding himself, "Right - the hospital. I totally forgot. But hey, that must mean that they really need you to survive." Of course though, the tables had turned very quickly to him. Brown eyes stared at Maelle, as she stared back at him, almost all knowing that he would lie, "Oh, you know, just another day in the life." Teddy replied now, flashing that distracting smile of his to side step the question about his feelings. He had gotten pretty good at it with Nat and Perry, that or they were just leaving him be.
The young man was grateful as the conversation shifted once more, to the faire, an easy enough topic, "Hmmm, not too long. I thought I was meeting my friend here, Natalie St. Croix? I'm sure you know her, but I guess...she got distracted." He glanced around once more, but naturally, the pint sized young woman was no where to be found. Nat had been doing that a lot lately, and he had a funny feeling it had something to do with a guy that he didn't quite know about, "What about you? Want to go play some games or go on a ride? Unless, you're waiting on someone." For all he knew, Maelle was waiting on Stephen Breckah.

"Ah, well, the pleasure is mine," he said with his boyish smile, unable to help himself. Teddy could only imagine how stupid he must look, grinning ear to ear. But it was hard not to, not when he knew how good the illustrations were of the woman before him. Heck, Penny Shepherd must have been his age when she got her big break. As tempting as it was to ask her about it, the young man managed to withhold such questions and enthusiasms, not wanting to feel fake or coming off like he wanted to use her when that wasn't the case.
"That's pretty cool you still show in the little cities," he replied now, "I don't think many artists do that once they get big. Shame really. London and New York are cool and all, but sometimes I think the small towns have all the characters." Teddy couldn't help but to laugh when she called him a local, guess he was really starting to blend in with the crowd if that was the case, "I go to school here in town. I'm actually from across the pond as well - if the accent didn't give it away. Alana Teale who owns this galaxy is a good artist. Taylor Way is another one I can think off of the top of my head. She specializes in fiber. Can't really think of artists in the traditional sense."
His chocolate brown eyes looked through the crowds for a moment, before spotting both women. Speak of the devils, he nodded to both of them, pointing them out, "That's actually them. Alana's in the middle of the pack there, and then Taylor's by the green vase."

Theodore 'Teddy' Beauchamp decided to trade it up, switching out the campus art building for Avalon Studios over in Willow Bridge City, for a chance to do some 'fun' art for a change. Not that doing work at the campus building wasn't fun, but that felt like a chore, since sometimes it was school work. Lately, Teddy hadn't been feeling that, he didn't want to sit in the building that left him with haunting echoes of his ex-girlfriend, he wanted to be anywhere but there. Naturally though, today's lesson was in pottery.
He practically sighed when the assistant told him - of course, the fun class would be the very thing that Ida had specialized in. Still, he wouldn't let that sour his mood. After all, they were making little animals and fairy houses - hardly the abstract sculptures that his ex-girlfriend preferred. He paid for the class and headed into their studio, the teacher was still setting up now. As brown eyes looked over the table, it looked like she would just be telling them the basics and then let the students run wild. Fine by him.
The young man slid into a chair now, pulling out his phone and played around on it as more and more people started milling in. Someone actually sat down next to him now, and he glanced over. A young girl, maybe a first year, sat there. She looked...familiar, but he couldn't entirely place it. Before Teddy could ask though, the guest teacher began her speech on clay and water, and how to work it. He barely paid attention, his thoughts still pondering the girl besides him. Finally though, the speech ended, allowing the students to get to work.
His hands went for the block of clay, staring at it with chocolate brown eyes - what the fuck was he going to make? Maybe he could make Natalie's horse and give it to her. Or a bowl on the wheel. Teddy gave the spot next to him a curious glancing, wondering what his neighbor might make when it hit him. His brown eye flicked up to her face now, and he flashed that boyish american smile, "Tally, right? I think you and I share colour & design together over at Hickstead University."

Theodore 'Teddy' Beauchamp rolled out of bed after the fifth alarm. God, he hated morning shift. The young man really wasn't a morning person - not without coffee at least. Thankfully, he knew there was always a fresh pot of coffee waiting for him at Seven Sirens. Rolling out of bed, he stumbled around in the dark, hoping to not bother his roommate - although that guy could sleep through a bomb going off. Once he was offically dressed, he grabbed his identification apron and stuffed it into his bag before heading on out the door.
Naturally, it was raining outside. Because England. Of course it would rain and be dreary in May. He supposed Hickstead could only ask so much of the weather though - at least it had been nice and sunny for the opening of the fair. Popping an umbrella (naturally, he couldn't mess up his perfectly styled hair), Teddy made the trek to downtown Hickstead and High Street to his second home away from home. The young man was susprised to find the door already unlocked when he got there, causing him to furrow his eyebrows for a moment, "I don't remember Perry being on the schedule."
He pushed the door open now, the bell chiming and giving him away. Well, hopefully this wasn't a robbery or anything: "Good morning Teddy! I hope you were able to avoid some of the rain! I can help open it if you'd like?” Chocolate brown eyes locked in on a familiar face, and he couldn't help but to grin as he closed the umbrella now, making sure to keep the wet droplets to the rug, "Elodie Witlock! I didn't expect to see you this morning. What brings you in today? Not that I'm complaining or anything."

With finals done and out fo the way, Theodore 'Teddy' Beauchamp knew he should work on packing up his life and flying back to the United States for the summer, and yet, he found himself stalling. Honestly, he seemed to be doing that a lot since Ida Evergreen broke up with him. Perhaps the most painful part about it all was that it felt like she hadn't, but something pushed her to do so, something that she couldn't explain. And then, just like that, Ida vanished, and for the first time in his life, Teddy felt at a loss.
It was kinda weird, this constant fog that he seemed to be in. He'd perk out for art, or when his phone buzzed and it was Perry Witlock or Natalie St. Croix on the other line, but otherwise, Teddy felt like he was just going through the motions. He had never felt this way about a girl before, or maybe he just wasn't used to being the one broken up with, either way, it certainly had the young man all bent and twisted out of shape. Sometimes it felt like it was the end of the world, and then Teddy just had to remind himself that he was being dramatic.
Still, hopefully the summer fair would liven things up a bit for his brain - and it was an excuse to not pack and support his friend at the craft show. He was walking through stalls now when he heard a voice call his name. Glancing over, it took a moment to register the voice and whom it belonged to, before he spotted the red head. Teddy beamed a smile, likely impossible to tell he was still so heartbroken, "Hey Mal!" The young man broke away from the stall now, heading over to her now, "Are you stalling time like me before heading home for the summer?"
