Seven Oak Stables
Owned by Lily White
Co-Owned by James White, Logan White, Leonardo White
Set just outside of town, Seven Oak Stables is a professional, well developed, friendly establishment. The stables has a good reputation for producing well rounded good-hearted individuals, who have a strong bond with their horse. Lily prides herself on running a friendly yard, where any trouble is quickly knocked on the head. It's the kind of stable where everyone is given a second chance and the opportunity to redeem themselves - whether human or horse. Working primarily on the trust and bond between yourself and your horse first, before building up to working together in whichever discipline you prefer. Natural horsemanship is key but it's also about enjoying yourself, and riding for the fun of it - not just to win. You'll often find light-hearted, easy going stable hands and the White family sharing a joke with clients and chatting away as they complete chores. Everything always gets done, even if Lily has to hustle people in order for it to happen, but it's usually at a relaxed pace. The yard has a range of trail riding available, and good riding facilities. One thing it does offer that it's rival yard does not (alongside the off road trails), is the opportunity to breed your horse, whether breeding your mare or offering a stallion to stud. Not to mention that Lily is well known for her 'mate's rate's' prices, and often working on the 'you scratch my back I'll scratch yours' approach.
Blue Acre
Owned by Naomi Clarke
Co-Owned by Nathan Thorne
A modern, slightly more expensive stables, Blue Acre is set right on the edge of the town and barely a five minutes walk from the centre. It's impressive structure and meticulously kept yard is easy to fall in love with. Your horse would want for nothing, from washing areas with heated panels to dry them in the great American style barn, to Olympic sized arena's - both indoor and out. It is well maintained, with any issues noted immediately and fixed almost straight away. Naomi Clarke runs a very tight ship, and is known for being incredibly business-like. She's driven, highly motivated and ambitious, and encouraged her clients to strive to win and to be the same. She has a huge success percentage and most often, if not always, her clients will make it right to the top. Of course with such a money obvious stables there can be a few arguments here or there between clients, and if you don't fit in you may very well struggle to make friends. One of the things Seven Oaks does not have is their state-of-the-art cross-country course. Noted for being one of the best in England, it makes up for the lack of any off road hacking that the stables is unable to provide (unlike its rival). It's a highly ambitious yard, and if you work hard and have the competitive streak and an edge to win, you'll make it along with the others, however the high standards are something to keep in mind when thinking of choosing this yard.
Welcome to the town of Hickstead, England...home of Seven Oak stables; a growing professional riding establishment. It was resurrected from ruins by Liliana White, with help from her two brothers Leo and Logan. Since then more and more people across the county and even some from other countries have flooded in to board their horses or sign up for lessons. The family thought they had every set for the rest of their lives. Until last summer, when a second stable rose out of the ground from nothing. Blue Acre riding stables boasted expensive facilities, an impressive american barn and paddocks with white washed fence panels. Emerging from the luxury was a new rival - Naomi Clarke. Having come into money from her parents sudden passing, she purchased the land and struck competition against Seven Oaks for the business, alongside long time friend and somewhat on and off rich boyfriend Jacob Thorne.
At first, the stables went about their businesses separately. However it soon became clear that with both of them aiming for the same clients, competition became fierce. As businesses began to boom, Lily and Naomi met in person. Amicably, over lunch they decided that they would put the rivalry to good use and so put on a show where the two stables went head to head. It was a light-hearted event, but as the months went on and the stables competed more frequently against each other in a wider range of disciplines, tensions rose.
Over the years the rivalry has become fierce between the two yards, to the point of injury and sabotage. Being friends with someone from the other yard can be considered traitorous, and god forbid you try even a hint of romance with the enemy. Loyalty is valued, but if it came down to it, how far would you go for your stables?
